FlashLog Terms of Service

The short version

By using FlashLog you agree to these terms. There’s no account or sign-up, so using the app is how you accept them. The free version is free forever — one daily ledger, one event ledger, ads on some screens. Business tier removes ads and unlocks unlimited ledgers and tax export, either as a one-time purchase or a yearly subscription. You can cancel a subscription anytime through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — FlashLog itself never charges you directly. You must be at least 13 years old to use FlashLog.

Using FlashLog

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use FlashLog on your own devices, for your own expense tracking — personal or for a business you run. You agree not to reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app itself, and not to use it for anything unlawful. This license ends automatically if you violate these terms, and ends naturally whenever you uninstall the app.

Free and Business tiers

Free includes one active daily ledger and one active event ledger, with ads on some screens. Business tier removes ads, allows unlimited ledgers of both kinds, and unlocks Tax Export. Nothing about your existing data changes if you don’t upgrade — the free tier isn’t a trial, it’s the permanent free version.

If your Business subscription ends

Your data is never deleted, hidden, or locked away. Every ledger you created stays visible, and you can still open it, switch to it, correct or delete entries in it, and export it. What changes is that adding NEW entries is limited again to your free allowance — your oldest daily ledger and your oldest event ledger. Any additional ledgers become read-only until Business is active again, at which point they immediately accept new entries once more, with everything you had logged still there. One thing to know: a recurring entry due on a read-only ledger does not run while Business is inactive, and those missed runs are not added retroactively when it resumes — the schedule simply continues from the next date due. Business Lifetime and Remove Ads are one-time purchases and never expire.

Subscriptions and purchases

Remove Ads and Business Lifetime are one-time purchases — pay once, keep them forever, no recurring charge. Business Yearly is an auto-renewing subscription billed through the App Store or Google Play at the price shown at checkout, after any free trial offered ends. It renews automatically each year until you cancel, and your payment method is charged through your Apple ID or Google Play account, never directly by FlashLog. To cancel, use your Apple ID subscription settings (iOS) or the Google Play app’s Subscriptions section (Android) at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid being charged for the next period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies — FlashLog has no ability to issue refunds directly.

Tax Export

Tax Export generates a PDF summary of the expenses you’ve recorded, organized by category and date range. It’s built from your own data for your convenience — it is not tax, financial, or legal advice, and FlashLog doesn’t verify the accuracy of what you’ve entered. Consult a licensed tax professional before relying on it for filing purposes.

Your data

Everything you log stays on your device — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what that means. You can export, back up, restore, or permanently erase your data from Settings at any time. Since FlashLog doesn’t operate a server that stores your entries, we can’t recover data you’ve erased or lost from a device with no backup — that responsibility stays with you.

Intellectual property

FlashLog — its name, design, and underlying software — belongs to its developer. Your license to use the app doesn’t transfer any ownership of it to you. Everything you log — your expenses, categories, notes, and receipt photos — remains entirely yours; we don’t claim any ownership over your own data.

No warranty

FlashLog is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose, and we don’t guarantee the accuracy of receipt scanning, category suggestions, or any other automated feature — always review what gets logged.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FlashLog and its developer aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including lost data, lost profits, or tax filing errors. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid FlashLog in the twelve months before the claim, or $10 if you haven’t made a purchase.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold FlashLog’s developer harmless from any claim or demand — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of your misuse of the app or your violation of these terms.

App Store terms

If you downloaded FlashLog from Apple’s App Store, you and FlashLog both acknowledge that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and that Apple has the right to enforce them against you. FlashLog, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for the app, its content, and any claims relating to it — including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet applicable legal requirements, and consumer-protection claims. In the event of a claim that FlashLog infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights, FlashLog, not Apple or Google, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, and resolving it. Apple and Google have no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for FlashLog. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store or Google Play Terms of Service you agreed to when setting up your account with that platform.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which FlashLog’s developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute arises, we’d genuinely rather resolve it directly — email us first at bkappsupport@gmail.com and give us a chance to sort it out. Any dispute that isn’t resolved that way may be brought in small claims court if it qualifies, or otherwise in the courts located where FlashLog’s developer resides, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

General

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and FlashLog regarding the app. Not enforcing a term on one occasion doesn’t waive our right to enforce it later. You may not assign these terms to anyone else; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we’ll update the effective date below and, for significant changes, note it in the app. Continuing to use FlashLog after a change means you accept the updated terms.
